About the Course

The CareGuard Summer Medical Boot Camp is a nine-week apprenticeship for pre-medical undergraduate & "gap year" students, medical students, medical assistants, residents, and any aspiring physician, PA, NP, or PT who wants to recover the calling that drew them into healthcare in the first place. Anchored in our Heartset–Mindset–Skillset framework, the program forms modern-day Good Samaritans through daily 6:05 AM Boot Camp, live and recorded teaching, scripture and reading discussion, squad-based clinical projects, and pre/post-program assessments. Our operating standard is Compassionate Process Control — Toyota-style disciplined excellence married to Christian sacrificial love. About the Creator

Lloyd A. Hey, MD, MS Founder, CareGuard · Founder, Hey Clinic for Scoliosis and Spine Care 15 years of training. Thirty years of practice. 9,500+ surgeries. One conviction: the most important thing in healthcare is the person — patient and clinician alike — bearing the image of God. Trained at MIT, Harvard Medical School (HST), Harvard Orthopedic Residency, Boston Children's, and Duke Orthopedic & Neurosurgical Spine Fellowship. Duke Faculty 10 years.
